About
During this course, participants will have the opportunity to learn about recent trends in Information and Communication Technology. The recent development in an area like Artificial Intelligence offers new opportunities in many areas. The ICT sector is one such area. However, it also warns of the growing challenges posed by cybersecurity threats. In the context of the course described, this means that participants will not only learn about cutting-edge AI developments in ICT but also about the critical need to address cybersecurity issues that have arisen alongside these technological advancements. Despite the importance of both of these issues, the course will not be limited to them. It will cover broad aspects of related areas such as the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, and the 5G revolution. The practical elements of those aspects in ICT will be emphasized, as well as the theoretical aspects that could be used during teaching activities.
Information and Communication Science (ICT) presents an area of knowledge that still faces a lot of challenges. Active research is still needed in this field. Transformation to 5G technology, Industry 4.0, and Internet of Things are well-known examples that require new solutions in that matter.
Furthermore, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution that arises poses new opportunities for the ICT sector. Rapidly developing artificial intelligence methods can be used in the management of network infrastructures. Furthermore, novel computer science methods and ICT infrastructures can significantly stimulate the possibilities to collect data sets for machine learning training processes. Finally, AI poses new threats to ICT infrastructures as it can be used to prepare a new types of cyberattacts.
During this summer school, participants will have the possibility to learn about advances in both Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity aspects that can affect ICT sector. Participants from different universities will share their knowledge not only on these topics. They will also discuss ways to incorporate these topics into university teaching programs.
Hosting the event at Kielce University of Technology allows participants to become familiar with the newly created cybersecurity specialty within the Computer Science study program. In addition, participants will be presented with modern laboratories that allow one to conduct research and teaching. Those laboratories include Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Laboratory of Teleinformatic Networks and Internet of Things Technologies, Virtual Reality Laboratory, and many others. This will allow to establish new cooperation between researchers and students of the universities within network.
History
The ITT network was established in 2020. The academic 2020/2021 year was the first year of activity. To this date universities participating in the project have been collaborating in the frame of CII-CZ-0031, CII-CZ-0404 and CIII-BG-0722 CEEPUS networks.
Despite the pandemic and travel limitations, we successfully conducted the virtual Summer School titled ''Internet of Things – Challenges, Applications, Trends,'' hosted by Kielce University of Technology in May 2021. 58 registered participants including 40 participants of ITT network from the universities of Kielce - Poland, Sofia branch in Plovdiv - Bulgaria, Gabrovo - Bulgaria, Nyíregyháza - Hungary, Prishtina - Kosovo, Cluj Napoca - Romania, Polytechnical Engineering College, Subotica-Serbia, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava STU-Slovakia took part in the school.
Virtual Summer School ''Industry 4.0'' organized by Kielce University of Technology was held in June 2022. 62 registered participants from the universities of Kielce-Poland, Sofia branch in Plovdiv-Bulgaria, Sofia-Bulgaria, Gabrovo-Bulgaria, Nyíregyháza-Hungary, Prishtina-Kosovo, Cluj Napoca-Romania, Polytechnical Engineering College, Subotica- Serbia, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava STU-Slovakia, Zagreb-Croatia, Split- Croatia took part in the school.
